TREKKING ROUTES
Nature tourism is one of Boqueixón municipal district’s main attractions. In the case of trekking enthusiasts, this municipal district features two routes of medium and medium-low difficulty. You will find more information below:
PICO SACRO ROUTE
Start: Pico Sacro Interpretation Centre
Finish: Pico Sacro
Distance: 2.650 km.
Difficulty: Medium
Itinerary
The route begins beside the Pico Sacro Interpretation Centre, located in the village of Cachosenande. From there we go up a beautiful trail that gets steeper and steeper. This route reaches as far as a water tank along forest trails. At the water tank, we turn left and come to the Chapel of San Sebastián and the top of Pico Sacro.
PICO SACRO ROUTE
Start: Ponte Ledesma
Distance: 9.6 km.
Difficulty: Medium – Low.
Itinerary
This route begins in Ponte Ledesma, a population centre featuring a very important ethnographic ensemble: Church of Divino Salvador de Ledesma, the old bridge, and the “Ínsuas de Gres” (islets) on the Ulla River. The Pescadores route goes through a protected nature reserve belonging to the Natura 2000 network, along a beautiful fishermen’s trail featuring wonderful views as far as the parish of Donas. The itinerary continues along the Río Grande route leading to the Chapel of San Paio in Codeso, and ending at a 7-metre-high waterfall.
