Filloa de Lestedo and Generals of the Ulla are present at the LVII Feria del Cocido of Lalín 

The Filloas of Lestedo and the “atranques” of the Generals of the Ulla were present for the first time in the big day of the LVII Fair of the Cocido de Lalín, celebrated in the capital of the Deza. A presence fruit of the twinning agreement between the Lestedo Filloa Festival and the Lalín Cocido Fair signed at the beginning of the month by the mayors of Boqueixón, Ovidio Rodeiro Tato, and Lalín, Xosé Crespo Iglesias.

A mayor who highlighted the ‘emotional brotherhood between the Cocido de Lalín and the Fiesta de la Filloa de Lestedo, supported by the generals of the Ulla, which will have its counterpart next March 9th, when the Cocido will be the protagonist of the Filloa Stew. A lunch in front of thousands of people offered by Uxía and José Canabal, generals of Boqueixón, on the back of their respective horses.

Likewise, Ovidio Rodeiro took advantage of his presence in the authorities’ box to promote the consumption of filloas de Lestedo among personalities such as the president of the Xunta de Galicia, Alfonso Rueda; the Japanese ambassador in Spain, Takahiro Nakamae; the delegate of the Government in Galicia, Pedro Blanco; the president of the Deputation of Pontevedra, Luis López; the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, Rafael Louzán; as well as a large part of the Government of the Xunta de Galicia (with the Regional Ministers of Presidency, Education, Health, Culture, Rural Environment and Employment); or the members of the Galician Government (with the Regional Councillors of the Presidency, Education, Health, Culture, Rural Environment and Employment); or the members of the Galician Government (with the Regional Councillors of the Galician Government), or the new Commanders of Cocido de Lalín.

Showcooking and Filloa Stew

The next week will be a return visit to Boqueixón by the Cocido Fair. So, on Monday 3rd March, the chef Álex Iglesias, from the restaurant Cabanas, will star in a showcooking about the Cocido de Lalín. It will take place at 19:00 hours in the social club of Lestedo. Admission is free, although prior registration is required at www.festadafilloadelestedo.gal.

On Sunday 9th, the XLII Fiesta de la Filloa de Lestedo will offer a Filloa Stew, also prepared by the chef Álex Iglesias. An authentic “Cocido de Lalín” with Filloas de Lestedo and meat from this land that can be tasted from 14:30 hours in the Lestedo pavilion, after the proclamation and the Generals of the Ulla.

The Filloa Stew will be priced at 37 euros for adults, 12 euros for the children’s menu (from 6 to 12 years old) and free of charge for children under 6 years old. The menu will consist of a “Full Cocido” (stew soup, head, lacón, rib, entrefebrado, por el, snout, ear, chorizo ceboleiro, nails, tail, turnip greens, potato, chickpeas and Galician beef brisket), drinks and after-dinner snacks (filloas and other sweets).
