The Lestedo “Filloa” Festival was announced yesterday at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR), which is being held from Wednesday 24 until Sunday 28 at IFEMA in Madrid. A delegation of representatives of the Cultural Association of the Lestedo “Filloa,” together with the mayor of Boqueixón, Ovidio Rodeiro Tato, went to this international event to participate in the presentation starring the “Terras de Compostela” RDG.
The Cultural Association of the Lestedo “Filloa” expressed appreciation for “the support that the geo-destination has been showing to our festival for years.” And proof of that was its participation in this presentation, which also featured a tasting of Lestedo “filloas” for the attendees.
Under the title Terras de Compostela, different ways to enjoy water, the geo-destination highlighted the main attractions of the region. In her speech, the president of the entity, Guarina Rey, highlighted the importance of gastronomy in the area. In this regard, she indicated that “filloas are an emblem in our cuisine, in Galician cuisine, and in that of our geo-destination.”
Precisely for this reason, Rey did not want to “miss the opportunity to comment that Lestedo, in Boqueixón, has been exalting its filloas for more than forty years in a gastronomic festival that aspires to become a Festival of National Tourist Interest,” she said. The presentation of the geo-destination ended with a free tasting of the star dish of this parish in Boqueixón.
The Cultural Association of the Lestedo “Filloa” expressed their satisfaction at being able to participate in a fair of such importance as FITUR to promote this celebration. “We hope that all the efforts we are making in favour of its enhancement will soon be rewarded,” they concluded.
